Renowned international law firm moves to Liget Center

2025-05-27

The Liget Center Classic, a protected historical building redeveloped by WING added a major new tenant: the international law firm, Wolf Theiss is setting up its exclusive law office on almost 1,300 square metres to provide a modern working environment for its 85 employees. With this transaction, the occupancy rate of the building has reached 100%.

Liget Center formerly the headquarters of MÉMOSZ (Magyar Építőipari Munkások Országos Szövetsége, National Association of Hungarian Construction Workers) is one of Budapest’s iconic modernist buildings. While preserving its significance of historic heritage, WING has completely renovated the complex in 2024, with a special focus on energy efficiency. The development project was aimed not only at preserving historical values, but also at creating a modern, sustainable office project to meet 21st century demands. The complex is located in Budapest’s District VI, at the junction of Dózsa György út and Városligeti fasor, right next to the City Park, opposite the Museum of Ethnography.

“We were looking for offices weaved seamlessly into the fabric of the city, iconic in its own right, while also offering a professional and unique location. After extensive consideration, we decided to go with Liget Center Classic, a worthy and representative choice not only for our firm but also for our clientele”, said Zoltán Faludi, Managing Partner of Wolf Theiss.

“Welcoming Wolf Theiss further confirms that Liget Center is one of the most distinctive properties in the premium office segment in Budapest. The signing of the lease contract is also a key milestone for us as the occupancy rate of the Classic building has now reached 100%. As a result, RTL Hungary will be followed by another prestigious international company to establish its headquarters here next year. The Liget Center office complex is not just a workspace; it is also a way of life: a sustainable approach, outstanding technical standards, historic heritage, green environment and the combination of cultural, sports and leisure facilities in the immediate vicinity give prestige and a unique character that go beyond traditional office functions” - said Gábor Angel, Deputy CEO for Office and Residential Development at WING.

The tenant was represented by Cushman & Wakefield during the lease process. Tamara Szántó MRICS, Partner, Head of Office Agency at Cushman & Wakefield Budapest added: “We are especially delighted that Wolf Theiss, with the assistance of Cushman & Wakefield, has chosen Liget Center as the location for their new office. We are proud to have been part of this important step, not only by supporting them in finding the ideal office space, but also by continuing to assist them through our project management services. It is a privilege to contribute to a move that will support the growth and long-term goals of the Wolf Theiss Law Firm in the future.”

As part of the Liget Center development project, a brand-new boutique office building called Vitrum was constructed next to the Classic and Auditorium buildings. Vitrum is a near-zero energy building that offers an additional 2,200 square metres of leasable office space on six floors, with a range of green and smart solutions for tenants looking for a downtown location.
