2012-09-25

Having already won the “Best Public Building in Hungary” award the headquarters and production facility of the Hungarian Media Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA), developed by Hungarian firm WING Zrt, was granted the prestigious title of “Best Public Building in Europe” by an international judging panel on 24 September. Now that it has come first among Europe’s best in the European Property Awards 2012 competition, the MTVA headquarters and production facility will also be nominated for the title of “Best Public Building in the World”.

The new production centre and headquarters of the Media Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA), designed to meet all the demands of the 21st century, has served the needs of Hungarian public service television broadcasting for several years now. It was originally built for Hungarian State Television (MTV), but following the integration of the public service media it is also the production site for programs commissioned by Duna Televízió Zrt, and houses the editorial offices of the joint public service news portal Híradó.hu, as well as MTI New Media.

The European Property Awards are a part of the International Property Awards, which are a well-established tradition in the industry – the logo of companies honoured with this award is look upon as the symbol of an impeccable professional track record.

In the latter part of the year the nominees that achieved the top scores in the European Property Awards will compete with the winners from the Asian-Pacific, African, North and South American and Middle-Eastern regions, in order to determine which of the entrants will take the coveted “World's Best” title.

“We are proud to be able to represent the European region among the world's best property developers. The award comes as international recognition of the fact that WING’s projects represent a world-class standard in Hungary”, said Noah M. Steinberg, chairman and CEO of the developer WING Zrt.

Stuart Shield, the chairman of the International Property Awards, said “This year we received nominations from 29 different countries in Europe, and the standard was extremely high. The winners in the individual categories bore witness to an exceptionally high degree of professional expertise and competitiveness in their given field.”
