A unique pop-up exhibition has been launched at the Liget Center, developed by WING. In collaboration with Art is Business and the architectural firm Paradigma Ariadné, the company has created an architectural history exhibition titled "Modernism in Pieces." This exhibition centers on the former MÉMOSZ headquarters, now serving as RTL's downtown base. Recognized as an outstanding example of Hungarian modernist architecture, the complex was granted heritage protection in 1999. The aim of the organisers is to present the past, present and future of the 75-year-old building through the history of the property, which has undergone an exemplary monument renovation.

An exhibition on the history of architecture was organised by WING, one of the leading real estate development and investment groups in Central Europe, in collaboration with Art is Business, a platform for corporate, private and art scene players, and Paradigma Ariadné, an architectural design and content creation company.

The exhibition was inspired by the recent inauguration of the Liget Center, RTL's new downtown headquarters. This protected architectural complex, once the headquarters of MÉMOSZ (National Union of Hungarian Construction Workers), has been reborn as a modern, sustainable office complex, now known as Liget Center Auditorium and Classic. Alongside the historic buildings, a brand-new boutique office building, named Liget Center Vitrum, has also been built, housing the exhibition.

The cultural history exhibition "Modernism in Pieces" focuses on the history of the MÉMOSZ headquarters and presents the complex’s past, present, and future in a unique and engaging framework. The exhibition delves into the building’s architectural achievements, artistic value, and various historical periods it has spanned, illustrating that modern architecture is not distant from historical architecture. The exhibition consists of two parts: one is an evocation of the period in which the complex was created, while the other is an installation of the elements of the MÉMOSZ headquarters building. The exhibition is complemented by a selection of works of art from the different periods, which help to provide a deeper understanding of the architectural context.

"As a real estate developer, WING has a great responsibility towards the built environment. The buildings we create leave a lasting mark on the fabric of the city, and we take special care to balance functional and aesthetic considerations. Our projects are realised within an urban context, rooted in architectural heritage. We not only create new buildings but also breathe new life into existing ones of architectural value. Over the past 25 years, we have developed a number of successful projects, such as the Máriássy House, transformed from a calf market hall, the Agria Park, reborn from the Egri Tobacco Factory, or the Honvéd Center and the Millenáris Classic. The former MÉMOSZ headquarters with its auditorium is one of Hungary’s most iconic modernist buildings, which has now been given a new function for decades to meet today's needs. And Vitrum, as an ultra-modern office building, fits in perfectly with the renovated buildings, enriching the existing environment," said Noah Steinberg, Chairman and CEO of WING.

"For companies like WING, who play a prominent role in the business sphere, it is especially important to think strategically about the built and social environment they shape. This is why the exhibition at Liget Center is forward-thinking, as it honors traditions while simultaneously creating value," said Máté András Balogh, President of Art is Business.

“One of Paradigma Ariadné's core principles is that local architects must be able to design high-quality buildings for clients while also engaging in architectural culture through lectures, publications, and, as demonstrated by this collaboration, exhibitions. At Paradigma Ariadné, we believe that the combined presence of these two activities in an office leads to a higher-quality built environment,” said Dávid Smiló, Managing Director of Paradigma Ariadné.
